JWT Chief Executive Officer of Europe Toby Hoare announced today that JWT has agreed to acquire full ownership of Manajans/JWT, one of Turkeys best known agencies.
JWT Chief Executive Officer of Europe Toby Hoare announced today that JWT has agreed to acquire full ownership of Manajans/JWT, one of Turkey’s best known agencies. JWT and Manajans have had a relationship since 1985 when JWT took a minority stake in the agency. JWT, which is part of WPP, has now acquired the remaining shares in Manajans, subject to regulatory approval.
Founded in 1944 in Istanbul, Manajans/JWT is a fully integrated agency that works with a broad range of clients including Turkcell, Ulker, Nokia, Bayer and Shell.
Tuğbay Bilbay, Chief Executive Officer of Manajans/JWT, will continue in his operational position along with having the creative chair within the agency. Meggy Halfon, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will also continue in her position.
Toby Hoare, CEO of JWT Europe, said: “This acquisition confirms our ambitions in Turkey, a market which is of great strategic importance to JWT’s clients. By taking full ownership of Manajans we will be able to enhance the agency’s already outstanding capabilities and greater align it with the JWT network.”
